Merger of Assured Audits New Zealand Ltd and Quality Auditing Specialists Ltd

After almost 23 years of operating Assured Audits New Zealand Ltd, there are some major changes on the horizon.

As part of our continued commitment to providing you with the highest quality services, we are pleased to announce that Assured Audits New Zealand Ltd (AANZ) will be merging with Quality Auditing Specialists Ltd (QAS), effective 31 March 2025.

Please note that this change does not affect our other business Assured Food Safety Ltd (e.g. Foodstuffs approved supplier assessments and food safety consultancy and training services will still be conducted under AFS).

This merger is a strategic move to ensure that the expertise and established relationships continue, and you remain supported in your Food Act verification and evaluation needs moving forward.

QAS have been operating for over 15 years with Maree Haddon, Managing Director, leading a team of 5 verifiers and 2 administration staff.  QAS and AANZ share company values and approach to business, and they are MPI recognised food and wine verifiers. QAS are 100% NZ owned and operated, covering the North and South Island with verifiers based in key locations.

What does this mean for you?

  • Continued Service Excellence: Shane and some of the team members you have worked with at AANZ will be transitioning to QAS, providing continuity in service and support.
  • Change of Verification Agency: As a result of the merger, there will be a change in your verification agency. Please be assured that this transition will be at no cost to you if you switch to QAS Ltd. We are committed to making this process as smooth as possible and will provide you with all the necessary information and support to facilitate this change.

What do you need to do?

If you are happy to transition to QAS as your verification agency you do not need to do anything – we will take care of this for you.

A new Verification Agency Letter will be provided to you, to include with your application to MPI/Council for registration under the Food Act.

If you have already submitted your application, but are not yet registered, simply forward the new Verification Agency Letter to your MPI/Council contact so they can update your file.

If you wish to opt out of the transition to QAS, and appoint another verification agency, please contact [email protected] no later than 24th March 2025, and we will send through an opt out form to complete.  You will then need to contact and engage another verification agency and notify your registration authority (Council or MPI) of this change.

What happens next?

  • Client Information Transfer:  We will be carefully managing the transfer of client information to QAS Ltd to ensure that there are no disruptions to your Food Act registration. You can rest assured that your data will be handled securely and in compliance with all relevant privacy and data protection regulations.
  • Introduction to QAS:  A welcome letter introducing QAS will be sent out to you soon with further information.

Have Questions?

We understand that change can raise questions, and we are committed to ensuring a smooth transition. Should you have any concerns or require further clarification, please do not hesitate to contact Shane directly (0274 726657 or [email protected]).

Thank you for your continued trust and partnership. We are excited about the future and look forward to continuing to serve you under our new, combined entity.
